This Founder Wants To Revolutionize Search With Findr
Sarthak Jain - Founder of Findr
In the first edition of the '“Founder Interview” Series, I talk to Sarthak Jain, founder of Findr. Findr is a tool to search across all your workspace apps, at once. In his own words, he wants to combine “Google and ChatGPT.”
Here’s the interview:
Who are you and what motivated you to be a SaaS developer?
I am the co-founder of Findr. Before this, I worked as a VC at Faad. My leap into SaaS development was primarily because of the challenges I faced in my previous role, which included an overload of applications and information, making it difficult to find necessary data at necessary times.
What are some of your previous projects?
This is my first project, although my co-founders have built apps for fun before.
Coming to Findr, what prompted you to build it?
Findr
In my previous organization, I had to deal with a lot of data, and finding information was a mess. I was looking for a solution akin to "Google + ChatGPT but for my workplace.
What does Findr offer that the competition does not?
Our competitors index and store your data, one of the reasons to start Findr was because we are not comfortable with sharing all of our data. With Findr your data is safe with you.
How have your customers responded to Findr?
So far, the response has been positive. We have a few thousand free users and more than 5 organizations using Findr. We've received great feedback on our AI assistant, as it enables our customers to:
Quickly pull together information without juggling multiple apps.
Reduce dependency on Subject Matter Experts.
Ask questions, summarize responses, and keep their stakeholders updated.
However, not everything is perfect. Building search is hard, and we often receive mixed opinions. But we are continually improving our search capabilities and expanding our App Library every day.
What are your future plans for Findr?
We want to make Findr a true workplace assistant which not only helps you find and extract information but also helps you in completing tasks.
Anything else you want to share with the world?
Trivial but in the past year I have realized that coding everything is a waste of time; you are better off buying tools.
