Why You Should Have an Email List

Are you looking to build a company? Are you trying to sell a product? Are you building a product? Are you looking for public feedback during and after your building process? Are you looking to build an audience?

If your answer to any of the above questions is “Yes“, then your next question must be, “Which is the best platform to do this?”

X? LinkedIn? Reddit? Nope. The correct answer is email and there’s no competition.

The advantages of email are far greater compared to any social media platform. Here are 5, I’ll probably write a longer article on my Medium soon:

• Personality: You get the option to express yourself with complete freedom. You make your own rules.

• Control: You decide who gets to read your emails. You can prune your list anytime. You decide how your emails look and you can change them anytime.

• Platform Independence: You don’t need to worry about SEO or responsiveness. Emails work across browsers and devices.

• Loyalty: Email subscribers are your loyal audience. They regularly open your mails only if they want to and they can unsubscribe anytime. You don’t have to cater to an algorithm.

• Results: The return on investment is always higher for an email list. You get much more value from your subscribers or customers compared to any other form of media.

This newsletter is on Beehiiv and I find the platform easy-to-use, feature-rich and with a generous free tier. You can try Beehiiv or any other platform that you like, but you need to start today because the best day to start was yesterday.

Templates for developing a complete SaaS in less time.

Why
The world is moving at a rapid pace. You might be working on an idea independently at the same time as someone else. It’s not necessarily bad to be late; it’s definitely more important to be better. But, if you’re faster and better, it’s even more advantageous.

Success Stories

• Shipfa.st: Made by Marc Louvion, it’s an amazing Next.js SaaS boilerplate. It has made over $63K in revenue in just two months!

• Ship Saas: A Next.js-Supabase boilerplate. It has made over $5K in revenue.

How
This is hard work and usually highly technical. You can make no-code boilerplates too but I’ve not analyzed that market.

The steps are clear regarding this:

• Target a tech stack with increasing popularity. Next.js + others looks to be the winner right now.

• The “+ others” is key. Have different tools in combination for your boilerplate. For example, sell one with Node.js + Stripe + MongoDB and one with Next.js + Supabase + PayPal.

• The same design can be sold multiple times because people prefer different tools.

• Documentation and support: These are the two super-important aspects. Do these two well and you’ll be in the market leaders. I am not exaggerating. The lack of documentation and support is shocking in this category.

• Show how your product looks and works as much as you can through videos and blogs.

Time is money.
