New Mini Game Announcement - Cricket Themed Tic-Tac-Toe
For those of you who don’t know about Buildspace, it’s a startup in SF, founded by Farza that encourages people to build cool stuff. They also have a program called “Nights and Weekends” where people from around the world connect over some streams, learn about creating products and actually bring their own ideas to life in just 6 weeks. And, the idea can be anything, not necessarily tech-related, it can be a YouTube channel, a book, a car, anything.
So, I joined Nights and Weekends this time around which is in its 5th season with almost no prior idea of what it was about.
Pause. Scene change. A few days before joining Nights and Weekends S5…
I’m in my office back in Bangalore and we’re all waiting for that one hardworking colleague to finish off with his call so that we can all go out and party (Friday night).
To pass the time, my friends introduced me to a game called Tiki-Taka-Toe. It is a tic-tac-toe game with a football theme - there are countries to the left and clubs to the left of a standard tic-tac-toe grid. To win a box i.e. to mark a box with “o” or “x”, you need to name a player that belonged to both. Sounds quite simple but can get very tricky.
We finished the game and I said to one of my friends - “I’m gonna make the same thing for cricket.”
Since most of my subscribers are either American or European - cricket is crazy back here in India. It’s the unifying super-religion above all godly religions.
(And, we also won the T20 Cricket World Cup yesterday. But that’s a different story…)
Cut to present…
2 out of 6 weeks into Nights and Weekends and I have the first version of my game ready.
If you’re into cricket, you’ll definitely already enjoy playing this. If you’re not, please send this to someone who does watch the gentlemen’s game. I need their valuable feedback.
Try Cric Tac Toe and let me know how you like it.
Many more changes to come…
