This Founder Wants To Transform Affiliate Programs With Crypto

Amit Mirgal, Founder, MangoSqueezy

Today, I interviewed Amit Mirgal who is building MangoSqueezy - an open-source LemonSqueezy alternative that works with crypto. Amit wants to minimize chargebacks and processing fees in affiliate programs. Read on to learn more about his vision.

Who are you?

My name is Amit, and I am a software engineer with around 8 years of experience in the field. Always a student who loves to learn and experiment with dev tools and tech service platforms.

What are some of your previous projects?

In the past, I helped a startup secure a grant from XRPL with my idea.

What motivated you to be an indie hacker?

It's hard to express, but I've always wanted to build something that helps people. Additionally, it gives you control over your destination and satisfaction in owning a product that people care about, which eventually helps build your revenue stream.

What are you building now?

MangoSqueezy

I'm currently working on Mango Squeezy, an open-source alternative to the Lemon Squeezy affiliate program. When working with affiliate programs, chargebacks (which are brutal) and processing fees turn out to be costly, as they take a few chunks of your profit margin. Additionally, if you are working with international affiliates, the transaction fee includes additional international fees.

So, we are building a platform that is an XRPL crypto affiliate program, with low transaction fees (almost $0). You don't need to worry about chargebacks; if they occur, we can easily revert them without incurring any Visa penalty fees.

What stage is Mangosqueezy in?

Development phase targeting to release MVP in 1-2 weeks.

Who are your target users?

B2B companies.

Over your 8 years in tech, what has been the biggest change?

Moving to Canada and starting over again in your own field.

How do you manage building projects with your 9-to-5?

It's hard, to be honest, to balance your professional, personal, and side hustle. You have to work with the clock, manage yourself, and balance your life among these three aspects.

Anything else that you want to share (might not be tech-related)?

I love soccer, Manchester United is my team. It's my team (don't judge me because of the current situation). I used to love them during Sir Alex Ferguson's era.
